İsmail Ünal Doğan, a founder partner of Doğan Law Office, had the possibility to act in the most complex cases relating to different areas of Turkish law and to represent national and international clients before governmental bodies and courts.
As regards competition law issues, in which sector-specific expertise highly matters, he has represented clients active in various sectors including energy, technology, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, FMCG, construction, and automotive sectors within the scope of investigations, negative clearance/exemption and merger applications before the Turkish Competition Board. He is also experienced in the litigation aspects of competition law. He has represented clients before the Council of State and administrative courts in cases filed against the decisions of the Competition Board, and in civil law cases filed on damages on the grounds of the decisions of Competition Board. He has also taken part in competition compliance programs, audits and trainings in companies.
Doğan, a trademark and patent representative registered to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, also provides full-fledged legal support on IP matters. In this regard, he supports not only processes before the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (such as registration applications and claims), but also legal proceedings before courts and other administrative bodies.
Doğan graduated from Galatasaray University School of Law. He had his master degree from the same university with his thesis on the concept of control within the scope of the Turkish competition and commercial law. He also studied in Robert Schumann University of Strasbourg (Erasmus Exchange Program) and was on secondment at Linklaters Dusseldorf Office in the past.
Doğan is a member of Istanbul Bar Association.
Doğan speaks fluent English and French, and is a certified translator.
